Lake Murray Lodge

So I've been coming here for years, and never get tired of Lake Murray. The views are beautiful, the park is incredibly well maintained, and there's no shortage of things to try or do. The lodge staff is knowledgeable, and friendly, and the lodge master has been here for years, and you can tell he's passionate about maintaining the quality of this place! It's extremely clean, and every event I've been here for has gone very smoothly, with meticulous attention given to every detail. The rooms are gorgeous, and have views to match! And most if not all of the rooms within the lodge have a balcony that opens directly to a lakefront view. I challenge anyone to come here and not feel just at least a little bit more relaxed and at peace.

*****Just swung in taking a gander around and must say I was surprised. The lake looks awesome, the marina is close and the food was there but we didn't have time to eat when we had other plans and quickly made a stop. Would really like to have the full experience it's just a bit to drive not to stay over and we had other arrangements. The little speedboat needs more information on it, things like how it got there and why. The engine specs, is it custom....are these welcomed to race on that lake...(it's an idea) I wouldn't mind. No occupancy on the lake, no fisherman or skiers were seen it was just dead as far as that goes but has great potential of events. Love the location, the potential, atmosphere somewhat lacking in areas, kinda dull like at an airport, but it's not a nursing home. Will have to try the restaurant out!

Lake Murray has been a favorite of ours for many many years. Before the new lodge and before any updates. We aren't allowed in the lodge due to having a pet, so we tried a cabin, which we were told were updated. For 140 a night, my expectations were reasonable. Unfortunately these cabins are more like wood tents. They're falling apart and are in serious need of being tore down. The outside walls have holes, the ac's are clogged and don't seem to have ever been cleaned; no telling what ur breathing, the shower had mold in the ceiling, you could see outside around the ac, we had to brush off food crumbs off the couch and in general probably the cleanest thing was the set of sheets. I have no issues camping, at all. But the cabins are not what is advertised, and a bit high for what you get. Check in is 4, we checked with them around 230, and was tuned away, which we understood. But the desk lady only looked at the time and said no. We sat and watched several others get their keys and unload. We got our keys at 345, no one at that desk if very friendly. We went to the room and was pretty disappointed 😞 The lady at the desk offered a different cabin, bigger at the same rate after us saying we didn't want to pay more, and showed it to us, but there wasn't much difference. We booked 3 nights and lost our 140 dollar 1st night deposit. They wouldn't even consider a refund. I wish I'd have taken more pics.

We stayed in a cabin this week and had a great time at the Lake. Cabin is in need of an update but everything functioned as expected. If you plan on cooking in the cabin, bring anything you would need to cook or season with. No pans, utensils, plates, seasonings, etc. are in the cabin. No biggie if you know in advance. Pool is great and they have a nice area for the kiddos. Bring your beach towel. Lots of trails, sandy beaches and places to kick back are available. The water in this lake is amazing! So clean. Lodge staff was very friendly each encounter. Probably try the Lodge rooms next. We will definitely be back!
